Town of Stanley issued the following announcement on Mar. 30.
Governor’s Executive Order #121 – Stay at Home Order (Essential vs. Non-Essential Businesses)
Effective Monday, March 30, 2020 at 5 PM, per the Governor’s Executive Order #121 (Stay at Home Order), all non-essential businesses have been instructed to close operations.
This order was issued by the Governor and not Stanly County. Thus, the County does not have the legal authority to advise a business owner as to whether or not s business is essential or not. The County is willing to provide our opinion; however, should a business owner want to seek additional guidance or an exemption from the State of NC, one may do so by emailing: Essential.Exemption@ncdor.gov
Please call the County Manager’s Office at 704-986-3600 for questions.
If a business remains open as essential, please remember the business must continue to meet the social distancing requirements as follows:
- Maintain at least 6 feet of distance between individuals; and
- Washing hands and using soap & water for at least 20 seconds as frequently as possible or using hand sanitizer; and
- Regularly cleaning high-touch surfaces; and
- Facilitate online or remote access for customers, if possible
