The City of Concord is advising customers to use caution and be aware of potential late payment and other user fees when using the online third-party bill payment system, doxo.com. In a recent advisory, the city emphasized that "doxo.com is not an approved vendor, partner, or in any way affiliated with the City of Concord."

Amidst concerns raised by utility customers, the city highlighted that they have "received complaints from utility customers that their payments are not being received by the due date." The City of Concord clarified that they "cannot control when customer payments from doxo.com are received," which could lead to "late fees added to customer utility bills or disconnection of electric or water service due to nonpayment." Additionally, the city warned that "Doxo.com may also charge customers additional service fees."

To ensure timely payment and avoid such issues, customers are encouraged to utilize the official bill pay website of the city, concordnc.gov/billpay. The website provides "a full list of options to directly pay the city" and offers various payment methods, including autopay enrollment, one-time online payments, drive-up payment drop box, bill pay kiosks at City Hall, and payment by mail.
