The fourth annual Concord International Festival is set to return to Downtown Concord on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 12-6 p.m. The event promises a day filled with shopping, entertainment, food, and family fun, showcasing global flavors, music, dance, and a special kids’ zone.
Mayor Bill Dusch expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are excited to once again partner with El Puente Hispano to transform the streets of Concord with the colors, sights, sounds, and flavors of our city’s diverse cultures. The festival has quickly become one of our most beloved annual events, and we’re proud to honor and celebrate the traditions of the diverse people and places that make our city so special.”
In the previous year, the festival attracted 8,000 residents and visitors to Downtown Concord, with over 62 countries represented. The event featured over 61 artists on stage, 55 arts and craft vendors, and 21 food vendors.
Sandra Torres, President of El Puente Hispano, described the Concord International Festival as “a vibrant and colorful celebration that brings together a kaleidoscope of music, dance, food, and art from around the world.” She added, “It's a fantastic opportunity to indulge your senses in a unique cultural experience, allowing you to witness the rich diversity and traditions of different countries without ever having to leave Concord.”
New for 2024, cultural booths participating in the festival will receive a $200 grant from El Puente Hispano to assist with purchasing supplies for their displays. These booths aim to educate the community by showcasing the culture and traditions of different countries.
To get involved as a sponsor, vendor, or volunteer, interested parties can apply online or contact El Puente Hispano at 980-255-1434 or by email at festival@elpuentehispanonc.org. Applications for participation are due by September 1, 2024.
