The City of Concord, one of North Carolina's rapidly expanding urban areas, is addressing housing challenges by providing educational opportunities to landlords and property managers. A free virtual workshop is being organized to enhance understanding of their responsibilities, tenants' rights, and the laws governing these rights.
The City of Concord’s Housing Department and the Planning & Neighborhood Development Department have joined forces with the N.C. Human Relations Commission for this initiative. The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, March 30, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., featuring Mr. Gene Troy, Interim Director and Senior Fair Housing Investigator at the N.C. Human Relations Commission.
Topics to be covered include landlords’ and tenants’ rights and responsibilities, relevant federal and state laws, anti-discrimination laws, types of discrimination, reasons for complaints, and examples of violations.
Participation in the event is free but requires registration. Interested individuals can register online at concordnc.gov/llpmworkshop or call (704) 920-5152. Tenants are also encouraged to attend.
