The City of Concord has announced a new arrangement with Cabarrus County to manage an existing county-owned restroom facility in Downtown Concord. Starting today, the public restroom at Rotary Square will be accessible year-round, seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This development comes in response to requests from local businesses, residents, and visitors for a public restroom in the downtown area. The move aligns with ongoing efforts by the city to enhance services and address community needs.

Downtown Concord is noted for its vibrant atmosphere and hosts some of the city's largest annual events. Recent developments include the near completion of a streetscape project, the opening of a new social district earlier this fall, and the addition of new residents moving into the Novi apartment buildings.

“Downtown Concord is a thriving destination with unique experiences in every season. We appreciate the County working with the City to open a public restroom year-round and provide an essential amenity for our visitors, residents, and businesses,” said Paige Grochoske, Downtown Development Manager.

The restroom's location at Rotary Square (111 Union St S), near Union Street and Corban Avenue intersection, makes it convenient for those visiting nearby shops and restaurants. Previously open only during summer months and special events, this facility will now be maintained by the City of Concord under the new agreement.
