The Concord Fire and Police departments are set to conduct training exercises at the Academy Recreation Center throughout January. This initiative is part of the city's ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and ensure that first responders are well-prepared for various emergency scenarios.
The training will occur at the Academy Recreation Center on Academy Avenue NW in Concord. During this period, the recreation center will be closed to the public. Training sessions are scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on January 7-9, 14-16, and 21-23. While the center is closed, residents can visit alternative facilities such as the Hartsell Recreation Center and Logan Multi-Purpose Center.
Residents should anticipate a significant presence of fire and police personnel at the site during these exercises. Motorists passing through the area and local residents are reminded that this is strictly a training exercise. It is advised that traffic flow be maintained, and individuals should only contact emergency services if they encounter a life-threatening situation.
