Allegiant Airlines has initiated a new nonstop service connecting Concord-Padgett Regional Airport and Melbourne-Orlando International Airport. The inaugural flight took place on November 18, 2021, accompanied by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials including Mayor Dusch and Aviation Director Dirk Vanderleest.
The airline is promoting the route with one-way fares starting at $33. Drew Wells, Allegiant's senior vice president of revenue and planning, expressed enthusiasm for offering Concord residents "convenient, low-cost flights" to Melbourne. He emphasized that vacationers will benefit from Allegiant’s nonstop service model.
The route will operate twice weekly, with schedules available exclusively on Allegiant.com. Dirk Vanderleest noted that this new service brings the number of destinations served by Allegiant from Concord to nine. He welcomed the expansion as an opportunity to increase travel options for the community.
Allegiant provides travelers with competitive base airfare along with savings on car rentals and hotels. Bookings must be made by November 20, 2021, for travel through February 27, 2022. Additional fees may apply.
Las Vegas-based Allegiant continues its mission of connecting smaller cities to major vacation spots since its founding in 1999.
