The City of Concord, in collaboration with El Puente Hispano, is set to host the inaugural Concord International Festival on October 2. The event will take place in downtown Concord from noon until 6:00 pm.

This free event aims to celebrate the diverse cultures within Concord and Cabarrus County. Attendees can expect live musical performances, cultural displays, a variety of international food and drinks, merchandise vendors, and a designated kids' zone.

Mayor Bill Dusch expressed the city's commitment to inclusivity by stating, "As we work towards a more inclusive city, where residents from all backgrounds have the opportunity to reach their full potential, it is important to create additional environments for learning and celebration of the diversity that exists within our city." He added that he hopes this festival will spark conversations among neighbors from different cultures and strengthen community bonds.

El Puente Hispano encourages local participation in the festival. Sandra Torres, President of El Puente Hispano, said, “Residents can be a part of the celebration by having a cultural booth to showcase their heritage, being a food or craft vendor, or by being a volunteer.” She also invited businesses to consider sponsorship opportunities.

For those interested in participating as vendors or volunteers or seeking more information about sponsorships, contact Sandra Torres or Natalie Marles at 980-389-0615 or via email at festival@elpuentehispanonc.org.
