The City of Concord will begin its annual loose leaf collection on Monday, October 28. Residents can place unbagged leaves at the curb for pickup by city crews using leaf vacuum trucks during their assigned week. The collection period will run until February 13, 2025, with an additional opportunity for collection at the season's end.
City Solid Waste Services crews operate from Monday to Thursday, excluding city-observed holidays. The complete schedule for loose leaf collection is available online at concordnc.gov/looseleaves. Once the program begins, residents can monitor crew progress in their neighborhoods via a tracker on the city's website.
Residents are advised to place loose leaves at the curb by 6 a.m. on the first day of their designated week and ensure leaves are free from limbs and other debris. It is important to keep leaves away from storm drains, mailboxes, and parked vehicles. Leaves bagged in paper yard waste bags or placed in labeled personal yard waste containers will also be collected weekly on assigned days.
For those who miss their last scheduled pickup and prefer not to bag their leaves, the city offers a Second Chance Program for $75. This service allows for a special last-chance collection between February 17 and February 27, 2025.
