The City of Concord Water Resources Department has announced that the annual Sewer Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) Lining project is set to commence on June 13, lasting through November 10, 2022. This project, aimed at enhancing the city's infrastructure, will cover approximately 21,000 linear feet of sewer line, 89 manholes, and 53 laterals.
According to a City official, "The annual CIPP Lining project helps to improve the longevity of the city’s infrastructure." As part of the process, city contract crews will undertake cleaning of all sewer lines and utilize a steam process to line the manholes. Additionally, crews will be placing top hats on numerous sewer laterals.
During the project, residents may observe steam emanating from the manholes. Assuring residents, the official stated, "Residents should not be alarmed as this is a normal part of the process." Individual residents will be informed at least 24 hours beforehand, either through a door hanger or in-person notification, when work is scheduled to take place on their street.
The City has ensured that there will be no disruption to sewer services throughout the duration of the project. Residents can refer to the map provided by the City, highlighting the routes where contract crews will be conducting work on the city sewer lines.
This annual rehabilitation initiative underscores the City's commitment to maintaining and enhancing its sewer infrastructure for the benefit of all residents.
