The Cabarrus Events Association has announced the winners of the Salute to Essential Workers community poster contest. The ceremony honoring the winners will take place on Thursday, May 12 at the ClearWater Arts Center & Studios in Concord. The winning artworks, along with all the poster submissions, are currently on display at the Main Gallery of the Center.
According to the organization, the contest was held in conjunction with the TrueCare 93rd Concord Christmas Parade, with participants encouraged to display their posters along the parade route to pay tribute to local essential workers. After the parade, a panel of six judges, consisting of local artists and members of the Cabarrus Art Guild, reviewed the entries and selected seven winners from a total of 35 submissions.
Among the winners are Leah Mills, Brooklyn Austin, CJ Beckford, Fletcher Krug, London & Luke Troutman, McKenzie Luckey, and Emmanuel Simmons. These talented individuals will each receive a prize and an award certificate at the upcoming ceremony.
The community is invited to visit the gallery at ClearWater Arts Center & Studios to support the young artists. The gallery is open to drop-in visitors Wednesday through Friday from noon until 5 p.m., with appointments available for those who wish to visit outside these hours. Individuals who entered the contest and would like to keep their artwork may collect it from the Center starting Friday, May 13, with a two-month window provided for artwork pickup.
