Rep. Kristin Baker (R-Concord) wants to make North Carolinians aware of two state helplines that launched to address mental health needs amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Maintaining physical and mental health during this challenging time is vital for our citizens, and for our providers,” Baker said in a post on her Facebook page on April 20.
The Hope4NC Helpline, which was developed in partnership with all seven of the state’s LME/MCOs and REAL Crisis Intervention Inc. in Greenville, provides residents with mental health and resilience support during difficult times.
Hope4Healers Helpline offers mental health and resilience services for stressed employees who are working in health care settings during COVID-19. The helpline was created in partnership with the North Carolina Psychological Foundation.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services established the helplines. The department expanded its telemedicine offerings including in the categories of clinical pharmacy, specialized therapies, dieticians and children’s development services.
