The Lincoln Street Bridge in Concord is set to reopen today at noon. The bridge, located over the Irish Buffalo Creek, was closed by the City of Concord in July 2022 after an inspection deemed it unsafe for vehicle traffic.
Design work for the new bridge was finalized early last year, with construction commencing in May 2024. Initially projected to take a year, the construction was completed ahead of schedule in eight months.
The reconstructed Lincoln Street Bridge now features a sidewalk aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety and improving neighborhood connectivity. This includes future links to the planned Irish Buffalo Creek Greenway crossing.
