The City of Concord, in collaboration with Prosperity Unlimited, Inc., is offering free virtual workshops on federal and state Fair Housing laws aimed at realtors and lenders. This initiative marks the third consecutive year of partnership between the two entities. The workshops are designed to help eliminate discriminatory practices, ensuring equal opportunities for all individuals seeking homeownership.
Participants in the virtual meetings will gain insights into securing state and local resources for down payments and closing costs. Presenters will explain guidelines, requirements, and deadlines for homebuyers to qualify for these funds. These sessions serve as a resource to enhance the knowledge of local realtors and lenders, helping them assist homebuyers in overcoming financial barriers to owning a home.
While participation is free, advanced registration is necessary. Interested individuals can register online until the day of the event.
The Virtual Annual Meeting/Workshop for Lenders will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with registration available at concordnc.gov/lendersmeeting.
The Virtual Annual Meeting/Workshop for Realtors will take place on the same day from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with registration at concordnc.gov/realtorsmeeting.
