The Concord City Council is working on a new Strategic Plan to define the city's vision, enhance public trust and transparency, and improve operations. Residents and business owners are encouraged to contribute their perspectives by participating in an online survey available at concordnc.gov/strategicplansurvey until October 15, 2023. Survey responses will remain confidential.

The previous Strategic Plan was adopted in April 2019. Since then, Concord has seen significant growth in population and development. Currently, it ranks as North Carolina's 10th largest city and sixth fastest growing city. Major economic developments include the construction of the Eli Lilly pharmaceutical manufacturing facility along U.S. Highway 29, expected to create nearly 600 jobs. Additionally, Red Bull, Rauch, and Ball Aluminum are investing over $1 billion in a beverage manufacturing facility at The Grounds of Concord.

Given these changes over the past five years, the City Council is planning strategically for future growth and prosperity. Resident and business participation is crucial in shaping goals and priorities to ensure that government services meet community needs effectively.

To participate in shaping Concord's future through this strategic planning process, residents can complete the brief survey at concordnc.gov/strategicplansurvey.
