The City of Concord has announced that government offices will be closed on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Garbage, recycling, bulky, and yard waste collection services will operate with a one-day delay. Residents are advised to place their carts at the curb by 6 a.m. on their designated collection day. The city's website offers a downloadable 2025 Recycling & Bulky Waste calendar for residents to view all city-observed holidays.
The loose leaf season continues with the third collection cycle for Monday customers scheduled from January 21-24. Customers should have their loose leaves ready at the curb by 6 a.m. on January 21 to ensure they do not miss the collection. Progress can be tracked via the city's online collection tracker.
City recreation centers will observe holiday hours and open from noon to 6 p.m. on January 20. However, the David Phillips Activity Center, Lake Fisher, and ClearWater Arts Center & Studios will remain closed.
