On Monday, July 24, contract crews hired by the City of Concord will start work to replace pavement at the intersection of George Liles Parkway and Roberta Farms Court SW. The need for this replacement arises from a previous water main break that has led to pavement failure.
The project will necessitate a temporary lane closure and traffic shift on George Liles Parkway. Weather permitting, the lane closure is expected to commence on Monday, July 31, and continue for seven days. This period will include night work as mandated by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). NCDOT requires contractors to operate both day and night to minimize traffic disruptions and expedite the reopening of all travel lanes.
Residents living in the Roberta Farms subdivision will retain access to their neighborhood throughout the construction period. Crews plan to pave a temporary asphalt access lane into the neighborhood that will remain available during the lane closure and traffic shift on George Liles Parkway.
