Concord announces MLK Day closures and service changes

The City of Concord has announced that government offices will be closed on Monday, January 16, in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Regarding waste collection services, garbage and recycling will proceed as usual. However, there will be no yard waste or bulky waste collection on January 16. Residents are advised to place their bulky and yard waste at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17. Crews aim to complete all collections by Friday, January 20.

City parks and greenways will remain open according to their regular schedule during the holiday. The Academy Recreation Center, Hartsell Recreation Center, and Logan Multi-Purpose Center will operate with holiday hours from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., while the David Phillips Activity Center and Lake Fisher will be closed.
