Max Solutions, Inc., a specialty packaging manufacturer, is set to create 150 new jobs in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Governor Roy Cooper announced the company's plans to invest over $27 million in a manufacturing facility at RiverOaks Corporate Center in Concord.

Governor Cooper highlighted North Carolina's appeal for manufacturers: "North Carolina’s reputation for manufacturing continues to attract entrepreneurs across all industries and Cabarrus County is the perfect spot."

Founded by industry veterans in 2021, Max Solutions specializes in custom folding cartons, labels, and inserts for healthcare and consumer markets. The new facility will span 150,000 square feet and feature advanced technology aimed at meeting East Coast market demands.

Dennis Kaltman, President and COO of Max Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about returning to North Carolina: “The Concord location will allow us to service our customer base in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Furthermore, this facility will have the same state-of-the-art equipment as its sister facility in Pennsylvania."

N.C. Commerce Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders emphasized workforce training as a key factor for companies operating in the state: “As North Carolina continues to lead the southeast in manufacturing, we remain committed to our First in Talent plan.”

The state's Department of Commerce led efforts to bring Max Solutions to North Carolina. New positions will offer an average annual salary of $67,253 compared to Cabarrus County's average wage of $43,687. This project could potentially impact the region's payroll by more than $10 million annually.

A Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) was approved by the Economic Investment Committee to support the project. Over 12 years, it is expected to boost the state's economy by $400 million. The JDIG agreement allows potential reimbursement up to $1,250,250 based on performance verification.

Mayor Bill Dusch welcomed Max Solutions' investment: “With their significant investment in our community, we continue to diversify job opportunities available to residents with positions that pay well above the County’s average wage.”

Steve Morris from the Board of Commissioners noted Cabarrus County's appeal: “Packaging is in demand because it’s essential to commerce. Max Solutions’ next-generation innovation and sustainability efforts make them a leader in the industry."

Max Solutions' move also involves transferring $416,750 into the state’s Industrial Development Fund – Utility Account for infrastructure upgrades benefiting rural communities.

N.C. Senator Paul Newton expressed excitement about job creation: “Our incredibly capable workforce stands ready to fill these great paying jobs.” N.C. Representative Kristin Baker added: “The startup’s outstanding investment underscores the strength of our manufacturing economy.”

Key partners include various state organizations such as the North Carolina Department of Commerce and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
