Face masks are now optional at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport and Rider Transit facilities following new guidance from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). This change comes after a federal court ruling on April 18, which nullified the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) previous order mandating masks on public transportation.
Passengers and employees at both Concord-Padgett Regional Airport and Rider Transit can choose to wear masks based on personal preference. TSA will no longer enforce mask-related security directives as a result of this recent court decision.
The airport and transit officials expressed gratitude for the public's cooperation during the COVID-19 pandemic. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining high standards of service and safety.
