The City of Concord is reaching out to its residents for feedback on how federal funds should be allocated for community development programs. This initiative aims to revitalize neighborhoods and tackle issues related to homelessness and affordable housing. Residents are invited to complete an online survey by March 28, providing their thoughts or posing questions about the allocation process. The collected input will guide the city in determining the optimal use of federal resources.

Every five years, Concord must submit a Consolidated Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This report outlines how the city plans to utilize its federal funding allocations, specifically focusing on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funding. During each year within this five-year period, public input is solicited to develop an Annual Action Plan, which details the specific application of CDBG and HOME funds for the upcoming fiscal year. Currently, Concord is working on its Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Annual Action Plan.

Residents are encouraged to participate in this process by watching a brief two-minute video followed by completing a short online survey. These resources can be accessed at: https://bit.ly/35ovBqI.

For those seeking further information or wishing to provide written comments instead of participating in the online survey, contact Pepper Bego, Federal Programs Coordinator at Concord's Planning and Neighborhood Development Department, at 704-920-5133.
