City of Concord government offices will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2022 for Labor Day. Several services will operate on modified schedules due to the observed holiday.

According to the city's announcement, there will be changes in the garbage, recycling, bulky, and yard waste collection services. All customers will experience a one-day delay for garbage and recycling collection, with customers in the Friday route having their collection rescheduled to Saturday, September 10. Bulky and yard waste should be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, with crews working through each day's route to catch up by Friday afternoon.

In addition, Rider Transit will be closed on Monday, September 5, with regular service resuming the following day on Tuesday, September 6.

Regarding Parks and Recreation, City Recreation Centers will have adjusted holiday hours on Labor Day, opening from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. However, the David Phillips Activity Center will remain closed. All city parks and greenways will operate on their normal hours during the holiday.

Residents are reminded to plan accordingly for these service changes and to visit the city's website or use the CARTology mobile app to verify their collection schedule.

This closure and schedule modification are in observance of Labor Day, a federal holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the country.
