Cabarrus County pledged support to local nonprofits that have assisted residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Qualifying organizations may be eligible for a Nonprofit Resiliency Grant. To qualify, an organization must be a nonprofit based and operating in Cabarrus County for at least three months before the application date, according to a Cabarrus County release. The applicant also must be current on applicable property taxes, not be debarred from participation in federal, state or local government contracts, and purchase from local vendors as much as possible.
Examples of services eligible for a grant include homelessness, mental health, food assistance, utility/rental assistance, childcare, health and wellness, technology and Internet connectivity and communications and outreach materials related to COVID-19.
“The Board of Commissioners understands the negative impact this pandemic has had on our nonprofits and the populations they serve,” Commissioner Chairman Steve Morris said in the release. “We hope the Nonprofit Resiliency Grants can help support the good work that is going on in our county.”
