The City of Concord has announced that government offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day. This closure will affect several city services, which will operate on modified schedules.
Solid waste collection services will not take place on the holiday. Residents should expect a one-day delay for garbage, recycling, yard waste, bulky waste, and loose leaf collection. It is advised that all items be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on the designated collection day. To verify their schedule or check when loose leaves will be collected in their area, residents can visit concordnc.gov/whatsmyday or use the CARTology mobile app.
Rider Transit services will maintain their regular schedule on Veterans Day. Military veterans are reminded of their eligibility for a Reduced Fare ID Card. Applications for this card can be submitted online or at the Rider Transit Center Customer Service Office located at 45 Transit Ct NW in Concord.
City Recreation Centers will observe holiday hours from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The David Phillips Activity Center and Lake Fisher will remain closed for the day. However, ClearWater Arts Center & Studios will be accessible to tenants and their guests.
