Prime Beverage Group will open a new $68-million manufacturing facility in Kannapolis, adding 231 jobs in Cabarrus county, the governor said in early June.
The 300,000-square-foot full-service facility will include manufacturing lines and a warehouse, a statement from the governor's office said on June 9.
“North Carolina is the ideal location to create new products and serve new markets,” Gov. Roy Cooper said in the statement about the company coming to Kannapolis. “Prime Beverage Group’s first manufacturing facility in our state showcases our readiness to grow jobs and move our state’s economy forward.”
The facility is projected to fill up to 1,500 cans per-minute and contracts with brand name beverage companies, the statement said.
Hiring is anticipated to start in the fourth quarter and jobs will include technicians, managerial positions, sales and operations, the statement said. The average salary is approximately $65,900, higher than that state’s reported average salary in Cabarrus county of $38,892.
"The decision to locate here in Cabarrus County is a reflection of the community of Kannapolis and the workforce that lives here and in the surrounding communities," Prime Beverage Group CEO Jeremy Lantz said in the statement. "Prime Beverage Group is excited to make Kannapolis our home."
The facility will be located at 1858 Kannapolis Parkway.
