The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, titled “Police State,” will be shown at a Concord movie theater on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25.

The film explores what D’Souza calls “police state” activity by the government, from the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks to the recent instances of COVID lockdowns, social media censorship, and the prosecution of concerned parents at school board meetings. The movie features D’Souza himself, along with actor Nick Searcy, and interviews with U.S. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan and radio host Dan Bongino, among others.

“I honestly wouldn’t have believed, prior to the 2020 election and prior to Biden coming to office, that I’d be making this movie,” D’Souza told CabarrusToday. “Which really shows that we have seen a speedy introduction of the police state on many different levels.”

The film’s trailer has already garnered 74 million views on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The Concord showing will take place at AMC Concord Mills 24, located at 8421 Concord Mills Blvd., with screenings at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both Oct. 23 and Oct. 25.

For those unable to attend the Concord screenings, the movie’s website lists additional viewings in Asheville, Fayetteville, Greenville, and other communities.
