The City of Concord is set to introduce a new online payment portal for utility customers on January 28, 2025. This initiative aims to improve customer service and provide more convenient ways for residents to manage their utility accounts.
Currently serving nearly 60,000 customers, the City offers services including electric, water, wastewater, stormwater, garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky waste collection. The new portal will enable customers to pay bills, set payment reminders, update account information, view usage data for water and electricity, and transfer services when relocating.
"Utility account numbers and payment due dates are not changing," officials stated. Customers must sign up for an account through the new portal to manage their bills online. Those enrolled in autopay will need to re-enroll in the system. Paperless billing recipients will continue receiving e-bills as usual. For those preferring traditional methods like mailing checks or paying cash at City Hall kiosks, these options remain available.
New customers can use the portal to apply for water and electric services. The platform provides a comprehensive solution for starting services, managing bills, and transferring or stopping service.
Further details are available at concordnc.gov/newbillpay. Information about the transition will also be included in January utility bills sent to current customers.
