The City of Concord has announced the closure of its government offices on Tuesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. This will result in several services operating on modified schedules.
Residents who rely on city services for garbage, recycling, yard, and bulky waste collection should note that there will be a one-day delay for collections scheduled from Tuesday through Thursday. The City of Concord Solid Waste Department will take over all garbage and recycling collection services starting in July. This change means some residents may experience a shift in their regular collection days. To confirm if their collection day is affected, residents are encouraged to visit concordnc.gov/whatsmyday or contact Customer Care at 704-920-5555. Alternatively, the CARTology mobile app can be used to verify schedules and receive updates.
Rider Transit buses will not operate on July 4 but will resume normal service on July 5.
City parks and greenways will remain open as usual. However, the Academy and Hartsell Recreation Centers along with the Logan Multi-Purpose Center will operate under holiday hours from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Both the David Phillips Activity Center and Lake Fisher will be closed for the day. The ClearWater Arts Center & Studios will also remain closed except for tenants and their guests.
