The City of Concord's Buildings and Grounds Department, Cemetery Division, is set to commence its annual spring cleaning at three local cemeteries starting March 22. The cleanup will cover Oakwood Cemetery, Rutherford Memorial Cemetery, and West Concord Cemetery and is expected to last for one week.
Residents are asked to assist by removing any items placed on or near gravesites before March 22. "Any item not removed from gravesites before this time will be discarded," the city stated. Items can be returned beginning March 29. Notices have been posted at each cemetery to inform the public.
