Concord appoints Della Robinson as new housing director

The City of Concord has announced the appointment of Della Robinson as the new Housing Department Director, effective February 20. Robinson brings over 25 years of experience in housing, including a previous role as Housing Manager for the city.

City Manager Lloyd Payne expressed enthusiasm about Robinson's return, stating, "I am excited to welcome Della back to Team Concord. Her experience and knowledge in community building will serve our city well as we plan to transform public and affordable housing in the near future."

In her new position, Robinson will oversee affordable rental housing and four public housing sites. She will also manage programs aimed at promoting self-sufficiency and home ownership among residents. Known for her community-forward approach, Robinson aims to enhance partnerships with stakeholders and find collaborative solutions to increase housing opportunities in Concord.

Robinson's career includes roles with three U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designated High Performer agencies. She started as an Occupancy Specialist at the Housing Authority of the City of Charleston and most recently was Operations Manager at the City of Rock Hill Housing Authority.

Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Robinson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies from the College of Charleston and a Public Housing Manager Certification from NAHRO. In addition to her professional achievements, she enjoys traveling, home projects, and spending time with family. She is a mother of three children and owns a dog.
