The City of Concord has announced a road closure on Country Club Drive Northeast starting April 12, as part of efforts to improve infrastructure. This closure is necessary for the replacement of an existing culvert, which aims to prevent further erosion and washout along this major connector between Branchview Drive Northeast (NC 3) and Concord Parkway North (US 29).
The project involves removing the current pipe culverts and constructing a double-barrel concrete culvert. Additional work includes relocating storm sewer lines and water mains, coordinating with existing utilities, and reconstructing roadway pavement. The estimated duration for this project is nine months.
During construction, through traffic will be restricted on a portion of Country Club Drive. However, access to all residences and businesses in the area will be maintained. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling nearby and adhere to posted detour signs.
Adjacent property owners have been informed about the closure. Further details, including a detour map, have been provided in a construction flyer available for download.
