Cabarrus County, along with the City of Concord and the City of Kannapolis, is hosting a free virtual fair housing webinar on October 20, 2022. The event is in collaboration with the Fair Housing Project, an initiative by Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc. The webinar aims to educate participants about fair housing laws, rights, and protections against discrimination. Sessions will be available in both English and Spanish.

The event titled "The Fair Housing Act: Protections Against Housing Discrimination" will take place on Thursday, October 20. The Spanish session is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., while the English session will occur from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Interested individuals can register online at concordnc.gov/ViviendaJusta for the Spanish session and concordnc.gov/FairHousing for the English session.

The webinar will address common questions related to fair housing laws such as property coverage, individual rights, reasonable accommodations, assistance animals, complaint procedures, and contact information for further assistance.

This educational opportunity is open to the public without charge. It targets renters, homebuyers and homeowners, housing advocates, landlords and property managers, as well as anyone interested in learning more about equal access to housing.

For additional details or inquiries regarding the event, Alicia Broadway from City of Concord's Planning & Neighborhood Development can be contacted at 704-920-5137.
