The City of Concord has announced that its government offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
City services will operate on modified schedules due to the holiday. Garbage, recycling, bulky, and yard waste collection for Thursday customers will be delayed by one day, with service occurring on Friday, July 5. Residents are advised to place their carts at the curb by 6 a.m. on their collection day.
Rider Transit services will not operate on July 4, but regular bus service will resume the following day. Recreation Centers in Concord will have holiday hours and will be open from noon to 6 p.m., while the David Phillips Activity Center will remain closed.
ClearWater Arts Center & Studios is also scheduled to be closed for the holiday. However, Lake Fisher will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4. This date coincides with North Carolina's Free Fishing Day, allowing residents and visitors to fish without a license. Boat rental fees at Lake Fisher still apply, and additional information can be found at concordnc.gov/LakeFisher.
