Residents of Concord have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their city through the Concord 101 program. This educational initiative, now in its 23rd year, is open to individuals aged 18 and older living in the City of Concord. The program offers a comprehensive 14-week course that covers various aspects of city life.

Participants will engage with city leaders, explore the city's history, tour facilities, and learn about the operations involved in managing one of North Carolina's largest and fastest-growing cities. Additionally, they will meet community partners to discuss efforts towards economic development and addressing community needs such as affordable housing.

The program aims to inspire residents to take an active role in their community. Several council members, including Andy Langford, Betty Stocks, Lori Clay, Jennifer P. Hubbard, and John Sweat Jr., are among its alumni.

Registration for Concord 101 is available online until August 4, 2024. As space is limited and classes fill on a first-come-first-served basis, early registration is encouraged. More details about the program can be found at concordnc.gov/Concord101.
