The annual Streetlight 5k & Frolic is set to light up Downtown Concord on July 8th, bringing together the community for a night of fun and festivity. According to the event details, attendees can expect a variety of activities and entertainment suitable for all ages.

In a statement, organizers encouraged everyone to join in on the excitement, saying, "Bring your family, and meet up with friends and neighbors downtown for a summer evening filled with fun for all ages!"

One of the key attractions of the event is the Streetlight 5k, with registration still open for interested participants. The race is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m., following a free one-mile fun run at 7 p.m. for those looking to get in on the action early.

For those who prefer to spectate or engage in other activities, the Frolic Festivities offer a range of options. From inflatables and crafts to games and food trucks, there is something for everyone. Attendees can also look forward to live music from Radio Revolver and a ninja-style obstacle course provided by Ninja Nation for both kids and adults.

To ensure the safety of participants and onlookers, road closures will be implemented along the race route starting at 5 p.m. McCachern Boulevard SE will be closed between Cabarrus Avenue E and Corban Avenue SE, with traffic restrictions in place to facilitate the event smoothly.

As the community gears up for the Streetlight 5k & Frolic, residents are advised to plan their travel accordingly and follow the designated detour routes. The event promises an evening of entertainment and camaraderie, inviting all to come together and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Downtown Concord.
