Representative Richard Hudson criticized President Joe Biden for honoring transgender individuals on Easter Sunday, stating that it was disrespectful to Christians.

“Why would Joe Biden choose the most important day to Christians – Easter Sunday – to honor transgenders,” said Richard Lane Hudson Jr., Congressman, according to X. “Shameful.”

This comment from Hudson followed the announcement by the Biden administration acknowledging Transgender Day of Visibility, which is scheduled for March 31, 2024.

According to a statement on Whitehouse.gov’s briefing room, Biden said, “NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.”
