Locust Police Department issued the following announcement on Mar. 2.
On March 3rd, the Locust Police Department was very proud to host a field trip by the Stanly/Montgomery Home School Association. The kids and parents got to take a tour of the police department, meet several of our officers and ask questions, check out Locust patrol vehicles, and the highlight of course was getting a meet and greet and training demonstration with our department K9 Rico! They also appeared to tolerate Rico’s handler Corporal Dietz because apparently when Rico is around he has to be too. The kids had a blast and we appreciate them joining us for part of their afternoon!
