Kannapolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 31.

The Kannapolis Police Department would like to introduce you to our new Telecommunications Center Manager, Hollie Morton! She will oversee the day-to-day operations in our Telecommunications Center. Hollie grew up in the Cabarrus County area and graduated from South Rowan High School in 2007. She has also completed course work in Criminal Justice and Business Administration at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Hollie began working for KPD as a telecommunicator in 2010 and served as a field training officer. She also received the department’s Norma Howard Memorial Service Award in 2014. Hollie left KPD for a brief while and was the Emergency Services Training Coordinator for Union County before returning to KPD. She and her husband, Tommy, have a daughter, Kenslie. Welcome back, Hollie!
