The Concord Fire Department has opened applications for its annual Camp Inferno, a week-long summer program aimed at high school students. The camp will be held from June 22 to June 26, 2026, at Concord Fire Station 3. It runs daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and there is no cost for participants. Lunch will be provided each day.
Camp Inferno focuses on leadership development through skill-based exercises and training sessions. Participants will engage in activities such as scaling and rappelling from the training tower, performing aerial climbs on a ladder truck, and using extrication tools for vehicle rescue scenarios. The program also includes scenario-based drills that are designed to encourage teamwork, improve communication skills, and help students build confidence in decision-making.
Applications are now open for the 2026 camp. Eligible students must currently be in high school or set to graduate in 2026. As part of the application process, students are required to submit a short essay describing the skills they hope to gain from the camp, what makes a good leader, and why they should be selected to attend.
