The City of Concord will begin its annual loose leaf collection on Tuesday, October 27. Residents can place unbagged leaves at the curb during their assigned week for pickup by city crews using vacuum trucks. The program will continue through February 12, 2026, and a second chance collection will be available at the end of the season.

Solid Waste Services crews operate Monday through Thursday, except on city-observed holidays. A full calendar for loose leaf collection is accessible online at concordnc.gov/looseleaves. Once the season starts, residents can monitor crew progress in their neighborhoods with a tracker on the city’s website.

Residents are advised to put loose leaves at the curb by 6 a.m. on the first day of their assigned week and ensure that leaves do not contain tree or shrub limbs or other debris. Leaves should also be kept away from storm drains, mailboxes, and parked cars. Additionally, bagged leaves in paper yard waste bags or labeled containers are collected weekly on regular collection days.

A Second Chance Program is offered for those who miss their last scheduled pickup and prefer not to bag their leaves. For a $75 fee, residents can arrange a special final loose leaf collection between February 16 and February 26, 2026.

Questions about loose leaf collection can be directed to concordnc.gov/looseleaves or Customer Care at 704-920-5555.
