City of Concord government offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Loose leaf season is ongoing, with the third and final collection cycle for Tuesday customers taking place January 20-23 before the start of the second chance program. On the holiday, City of Concord recreation centers will operate from noon to 6 p.m., while David Phillips Activity Center, Lake Fisher, and ClearWater Arts Center & Studios will remain closed. The ClearWater Ceramics Center will keep regular hours for registered users.
The city encourages residents to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by attending MLK weekend events organized in partnership with the Concord-Cabarrus Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee.
