City of Locust issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
Children of Locust can send letters to Santa this holiday season using the mailbox outside of Locust City Hall!
Send letters starting December 1st through December 24th.
Letters from Locust residents received before December 16th are guaranteed a response from Santa himself!

The City of Concord has lifted a recent boil water notice for customers north of I-85 and NC-73 after confirming safe drinking water through tests. Only a small number of households were affected; others remained unaffected throughout this period.
A boil water notice has been issued for a small number of Concord residents after E. coli was found in part of Kannapolis’ drinking supply. Only those living north of I-85 and NC-73 who receive their service from Kannapolis are affected; free bottled water is being distributed.
The City of Concord is awaiting state guidance following a boil water notice in nearby Kannapolis. Officials are coordinating with local agencies and will update residents when more information arrives.
