City of Locust Police Department issued the following announcement on July 4.
If you receive any type of message through text, email, messenger etc. that says Locust Police Department shirts are 10% off, it is a phishing scam designed to either get your personal, log-in, or financial information.
The Locust Police Department is not currently selling shirts and if we ever did, there would be advertisements on our website and social media, and we would still never solicit any of those sales.
If you have received one of these messages and thought you were purchasing a Locust PD shirt, you will need to take all necessary steps to contact your financial institution and/or change any log-in information.
