City of Locust Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
No legitimate law enforcement agency or business will ever contact you by phone and demand payment to avoid arrest or other consequences for alleged illegal actions.
If you receive a call like this, hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency to report it.
Please also keep in mind that phone numbers can be cloned/spoofed making the calls look legitimate.
