City of Locust Police Department issued the following announcement on July 1.

The Locust Police Department (LPD) is accepting applications for the position of Patrol Officer (PO1 or PO2). Qualified applicants may be invited to participate in the interview process, which includes (but is not limited to) extensive oral interviews and background investigation, as well as medical and psychological assessments. Starting salary range is $38,000-$45,000 dependent on prior experience, training, and education. The City of Locust is one of the fastest growing cities in Stanly County and North Carolina. Minimum Job Requirements

Age: 20 ½ years old  

Education: High School Diploma or equivalency and 

active NC BLET Certification, or currently enrolled in NC BLET program. Guaranteed higher starting salary with associates, bachelors, or graduate degree

License: Valid North Carolina driver’s license

City Of Locust Benefits

– Minimum Starting Salary: (Basic Entry Level) $38,000 (Lateral) $40,000*

– Maximum Starting Salary: (Entry Level) $42,000 (Lateral) $45,000*
