City of Locust issued the following announcement on Nov. 7.

Leaf Pick-Up begins next month for Locust Residents. Please see flyer for details!

Leaves must be bagged.

Large paper bags must be used for leaf collection.

No plastic bags will be collected.

The new leaf pick up service provider will not take leaves piled at the roadside.

No brush. Leaves only. 

Paper bags will be available for Locust Residents at Locust City Hall, while supplies last. 

Limited number per households.

November 19

December 10

A boil water notice has been issued for a small number of Concord residents after E. coli was found in part of Kannapolis’ drinking supply. Only those living north of I-85 and NC-73 who receive their service from Kannapolis are affected; free bottled water is being distributed.
