The City of Concord, in partnership with Cabarrus County Government and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, will hold a Fall Safe Disposal Event on Saturday, October 25. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Village Shopping Center parking lot located at 280 Concord Parkway S.
Residents and business owners are invited to bring paper documents, electronic waste, and unused or expired medications for secure disposal. Organizers say the event aims to provide a confidential and environmentally responsible way to dispose of these items.
“The Safe Disposal event will be drive-thru style,” according to organizers. Specific guidelines include a limit of five trash bags or bankers boxes of paper per person. Accepted electronic waste includes televisions, computers, and other devices.
The City of Concord Police Department will be present to handle the safe disposal of unused and expired medications. However, needles will not be accepted during this event.
This initiative provides an opportunity for the community to safely discard sensitive materials while promoting environmental stewardship.
