CITY OF CONCORD: Reminder to Keep Leaves Out Of Storm Drains

0Comments

City of Concord issued the following announcement on Dec. 8.

During and after rainfall, leaves that have gathered on streets and sidewalks begin to clog storm drains.

When large amounts of leaves collect in storm drains, they can cause problems like street flooding and negatively impact the water quality of the streams and rivers into which they discharge, harming fish and wildlife.

You can help by removing leaves that collect at the storm drains near your home, and always remember – only rain down the drain!
