The City of Concord government offices will close on Monday, December 25 through Wednesday, December 27 in observance of the Christmas holiday, as well as Monday, January 1, 2024, in observance of New Year’s Day. Several services will operate on modified schedules due to the observed holidays.
Garbage, Recycling, Bulky and Yard Waste Schedule
Week of December 25-29:
Garbage, recycling, and bulky waste collection will operate on a one-day delay the week of Christmas. There will be no yard waste collection during this week. Loose leaf collection crews will be working to catch up on remaining areas under the second cycle.
Week of January 1-5, 2024:
All collection services will operate on a one-day delay the first week of January.
Extra bags (up to 5 bags per address) are allowed outside of customer trash carts beginning December 26 through January 5. Please place extra bags at least two feet from any cart or object for safe collection.
Live Christmas trees may be placed curbside (with stand, lights, and ornaments removed) with customers’ regular yard waste.

Rider Transit
Rider Transit will be closed and no buses will operate on Christmas, December 25, and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2024.
Parks and Recreation
All recreation and activity centers, as well as Lake Fisher, will be closed on Christmas, December 25. See below for additional closures and schedule modifications through the holidays.
Academy, Hartsell, and Logan Multi-Purpose Recreation Centers:
- Open with holiday hours, Noon-6:00 p.m., on December 23, December 26-27, and Monday, January 1.
- Open regular hours, 8:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 28 and Friday, December 29 and Noon-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30.
David Phillips Activity Center:
- Closed December 25-27 and January 1.
Lake Fisher:
- Open 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 p.m. on December 23
- Closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1
ClearWater Arts Center & Studios
- Closed December 25-27 and January 1.
