CITY OF ALBEMARLE: Stormwater Utility Program Public Forum April 13, 2022
0Comments

City of Albemarle issued the following announcement on Apr. 1.

We invite you to visit the new City of Albemarle stormwater information page: http://www.albemarlenc.gov/…/stormwater-utility-program

You’ll find details about the proposed program as well as frequently asked questions.

Albemarle City Council authorized City staff to include a storm water management plan in the 2022-2023 fiscal year budget. A stormwater utility funded by a monthly utility fee would not only address major flooding issues, but also costly repairs to aging infrastructure and overall water quality within our jurisdiction. For the past several months, the City has conducted a comprehensive stormwater management study. The City has also received input from residents through a survey about how flooding impacts the areas where they live.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU: We hope you’ll join us for a public forum on Wednesday, April 13th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall inside council chambers. Please note, if you’re unable to attend the stormwater utility public forum in person, you can still participate virtually (details in the link above).
